		November 2008 Stanmore sponsors an Olympic hopeful! Stanmore is delighted to announce that they have recently agreed to sponsor Emily Ruaux who at the tender age of 13 is already an English Youth Fencing Champion. Emily who is a pupil at Rivington Park Independent School was introduced to the sport two years ago and is currently a Sabreuse which to the uninitiated is a female fencer who fences with a sabre. Emily was the British Youth Champion U12 last year and English Youth Champion U13 and is currently ranked 7th in the U17's GB Rankings and 21st in the U20 GB Rankings. Having recently returned from the U17 international in Godollo, Hungary Emily was delighted to finish 44th out of 138 fencers which was the third highest result in the British squad. Godollo is the most fiercely contested European U17 event and is dominated by the fencing power houses of the Ukraine, Hungary, Russia and USA. Emily's fencing goals this season are to break into the top 4 in the U17's and therefore earn selection for the GBR U17 World and European Championship Squad. Emily trains in Hungary over the summer for two weeks as part of the GBR elite fencing training programme with a further UK based 1 week residential camp in the summer holidays. She is determined to make the 2012 Olympics and we hope our sponsorship will help her achieve her goals!	Jackie Hyde presenting Emily with a cheque.
		September 2008 Stanmore acquires Beecroft Insurance Services Limited. We were thrilled to complete the acquisition of Beecroft Insurance Services Limited on 1 September 2008 bringing together two companies with a combined history of nearly 90 years! The acquisition further strengthens Stanmore’s standing with its partner insurers and opens a number of new markets to Beecrofts long standing clients. It also adds a further four very experienced quality people to the Stanmore team. Having known Beecrofts for a number of years we knew that the business was an ideal fit for Stanmore having a propensity for corporate insurance whilst offering proficiency for personal insurance where needed. From our very first meeting with Arthur and his team it was apparent that we shared not only a highly ethical approach to our business dealings but also a commitment to superior service. Arthur and his team will continue operating from their existing Pendlebury premises until the turn of the year at which time we will consolidate and integrate them into the existing Stanmore infrastructure. Additional Agency Facilities We have pleased to announce we have secured agency facilities with Evergreen Underwriting Services Limited in London. This facility is only granted to a very select number of brokers and further strengthens our agency base. We are confident that our clients will reap the benefits over the coming months and years.
